Much of this work was motivated by an attempt to respond to the various criticisms and perceived weaknesses of the first volume.
This is in accord with my more general conviction that a qualitative approach and a formalised approach anti–badiou complementary, each serving as heuristic inspiration for the other. Thus philosophy as written and as suture of thought should be distinctly separated.
